Course 8 — Integrated Technician II Simulation Lab

THC Cultivation Technician II · Course 8

Integrated Technician II Simulation Lab

Integrates the seven Technician II performance practicals and Senior Technician Diagnostic Shift capstone through supervised, evidence-based performance preparation. Readiness knowledge checks are formative only; completion requires each mapped practical and the capstone to independently meet its performance standard with no critical errors.

What you will learn

  • Prioritize competing Technician II deviations by immediate safety, containment, data-validity, crop or lot consequence, timing dependency and assigned authority before selecting a next action.
  • Integrate crop pattern, environmental context and measurement quality into a ranked diagnostic workup that separates verified observations, hypotheses and required next checks.
  • Verify sensor and equipment evidence before acting, classify safe operator checks versus authorized maintenance escalation, and reject major corrective action based on data known to be invalid.
  • Integrate approved fertigation execution, water and measurement verification, irrigation delivery, root-zone trend and crop context into a bounded troubleshooting recommendation.
  • Integrate IPM trend evidence with propagation and canopy performance while protecting biosecurity, treatment-authority limits, cultivar or stage context and uncertainty.
  • Investigate postharvest deviations by preserving product measurements, lot genealogy, affected-scope evidence, holds and product-disposition authority boundaries.
  • Reconcile traceability, planned-versus-actual records and KPI definitions while providing SOP-based peer support and a priority-ranked shift handoff without unauthorized record changes.
  • Assemble a reconstructable Senior Technician Diagnostic Shift evidence packet that supports evaluator scoring, remediation decisions and supervisor handoff without unresolved critical errors.

Lessons

Lesson 1

Integrated Case Triage, Data Quality and Diagnostic Prioritization

The integrated lab begins with competing abnormalities rather than a single labeled problem. Technician II must establish immediate safety and containment needs, verify whether measurements are trustworthy, define the affected scope, rank hypotheses and choose the smallest defensible next verification step before recommending correction.

Lesson 2

Root-Zone, IPM, Propagation and Canopy Troubleshooting Stations

These stations require Technician II to combine process execution with troubleshooting discipline. Fertigation and irrigation evidence must retain recipe identity, measurement verification and crop/media context; IPM, propagation and canopy evidence must preserve sampling quality, sanitation, cultivar or stage context and treatment-authority boundaries.

Lesson 3

Postharvest, Traceability, Metrics and Controlled-Record Integration

Postharvest and records stations test whether Technician II can preserve evidence when the easiest explanation is incomplete. Product condition, room history, genealogy, physical counts, controlled records and KPI definitions must remain distinguishable. The learner scopes only what the evidence supports and hands disposition or controlled-record decisions to the authorized role.

Lesson 4

Senior Technician Diagnostic Shift, Evidence Portfolio and Remediation

The capstone is an integrated shift, not an average of isolated quiz scores. The candidate must prioritize competing deviations, verify data before consequential action, preserve evidence across processes, stay within authority and produce a supervisor-ready report. A failed practical or critical error remains failed evidence; stronger performance elsewhere cannot average it away.

Public professional training: this course is open for academic study. Technician II professional certification still requires separately validated practical/capstone evidence, secure assessment controls, human review, calibration, standard setting and explicit release approval.
